Energy Monitoring
There are software and meter reading devices available that will help you monitor how much energy your appliances use. There are even software tools such as Google’s New PowerMeter and an iPhone app.
Federal Tax Credit for Energy Efficiency
Many of our clients are taking advantage of federal and state credits for installing energy efficient items such as solar panels and water heaters.
Lighting
When building a custom home, aesthetically speaking, we understand that lighting can “make or break” the home. You can expect savings by switching to compact fluorescent light bulbs or CFLs. Many of our clients are enjoying the efficiency and longevity of LED lighting.
Appliances
In most homes, the two most “power usage” items are refrigerators and washing/dryer machines. Refrigerators can be adjusted or programmed correctly allowing them to run more efficiently.
